ASL’s 4 European airlines are to be renamed under the new ASL Airlines brand and there will be 4 airline operations ‘centres of excellence’ in Ireland, France, Switzerland and Hungary.

May 27th, 2015 – ASL Aviation Group has announced that it’s shareholding in cargo operator Quikjet Cargo Airlines Pvt Ltd. through ASL subsidiary Farnair Switzerland AG is to increase to 72.59%

The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB), which is the relevant agency of the Government of India for all Foreign Direct Investments, has approved Farnair’s application to increase its shareholding. The approval has come just months before the planned start of B737 scheduled domestic cargo services.

December 11th, 2014 – AEI delivers third B737-400SF to FARNAIR Group

Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI), is pleased to announce that the company has successfully delivered a third 11 pallet position B737-400SF to Switzerland based, FARNAIR Group. The aircraft is planned to join the South East Asia K-Mile operation as the second aircraft. Built in 1998, the aircraft (MSN 29000), was converted at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, Alabama facility and was delivered on November 28, 2014. This is the third conversion of a four aircraft agreement.

December 04th, 2014 – ASL Aviation Group completes Farnair acquisition

This afternoon in Basel, Switzerland, Dublin Based ASL Aviation Group completed the acquisition of the Farnair Group of aviation companies. The acquisition brings the total number of ASL affiliated airlines to 7, global staff to 1500 and owned or operated aircraft to more than 100. With the acquisition, the consolidated annual turnover of ASL is expected to grow to in excess of EUR 400 million with an EBITDA in excess of EUR 80 million.

October 29th, 2014 – ASL Aviation Group to acquire the Farnair Group

ASL Aviation Group (ASL) has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire the Farnair Group of companies. The transaction is expected to close before the end of the year, once all pending regulatory and customary approvals are received.

June 14th, 2014 – 30 years of company history: From Farner Air Transport AG to FARNAIR Group (also available in German)

In 1984 Farner Air Transport was founded out of the blue, as a result of rather incidental yet fortunate circumstances. Today, the globally operating FARNAIR Group not only runs one of Switzerland's long standing airlines but also several subsidiaries providing aviation related services. Fitting-in with its 30 year anniversary, FARNAIR added the first of eight 737-400 freighter aircraft to its fleet.

April 3rd, 2014 - Ancra Receives STC for ATR72 Containerized CLS (joint media release)

Ancra International LLC announced today that it has received FAA and EASA Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a main deck containerized cargo loading system for ATR72-201/202 series aircraft. The system facilitates the transitioning of containers and palletized cargo in /out of the aircraft using a floor mounted roller system with all guides and locks necessary for the restraint of up to seven (7) LD3 containers or five (5) 88”x108” containers/pallets. The system was developed and qualified under contract with FARNAIR Switzerland AG who has taken ownership of two Ancra ATR72 systems.

April 1st, 2014 - FARNAIR – 30 years in the Air

On April 1st, 1984 the Swiss Federal Office for Civil Aviation FOCA acknowledged and approved the company’s first Flight Operations Manual. It was the day FARNER Air Transport AG was entitled to perform commercial flights under its airline operating lisence. What started with a Seneca aircraft transporting up to 200 kg of parcels four times per week from Basel to Brussels and back has meanwhile grown to a Group of companies with activities across the globe. Operating a fleet of more than 20 aircraft, FARNAIR today ranks among the long standing and larger airlines in Switzerland.

March 10, 2014 - FARNAIR Switzerland AG to acquire 45% of K-MILE Air Company Ltd. Shares

K-Mile Air, a Thai cargo airline covering Asia from K-Mile's base at Suvarnabhumi Airport Bangkok, Thailand is pleased to announce together with FARNAIR Switzerland that FARNAIR has acquired all of Transmile Group Berhad‘s (TGB) 45% shareholding in K-Mile Air (8K). Closing of the transaction took place on March 3, 2014.

February 18th, 2014 – AEI delivers first FARNAIR B737-400SF 11 Pallet Conversion

Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI), is pleased to announce that it has delivered the first of four B737-400SF freighters to the FARNAIR Group based in Allschwil, Switzerland. The aircraft is a high gross weight B737-400SF (MSN 28492) built in 1996 and was converted at Commercial Jet’s Miami facility, which is one of five authorized AEI Conversion Centers worldwide. This is AEI’s 2nd of an anticipated 30+ freighters to be delivered in 2014.

October 3rd, 2013 - FARNAIR introduces new Visual System on ATR Full Flight Simulator and a video on the capabilities of its Training Centre

The Visual System on the ATR 42-300/72-500 Full Flight Simulator was replaced, further improving
the training quality of the FARNAIR Training Centre in Neusiedl near Vienna.
